NashvilleCMS launched our Adult Chamber Workshop in fall 2023, and we’ve had the joy of working with talented musicians from all backgrounds. Now, we’re thrilled to partner with the Scarritt Bennett Center to present the Adult Chamber Music Intensive — a three-day event designed for passionate string players of all levels who want to grow as chamber musicians.

What’s Included

• Welcome meeting & concert – Meet your peers and get inspired by the weekend’s faculty members.

• Coachings with NCMS artists – Dive deep into your repertoire and hone collaborative musicianship.

• Studio-class style open workshop – Listen and learn as participants practice performing and giving feedback.

• String orchestra read-along – Play beloved chamber orchestra repertoire, led by faculty.

• Sight-reading chamber music party – Explore new works in ad-hoc groups in a relaxed setting.

• Casual closing performance & brunch – Celebrate your progress and share your music to wrap up the weekend.

Participants will have the opportunity to work with esteemed artists, including:

• Annie Fullard – Founding violinist of the Cavani Quartet

• Charissa Leung – Violinist of the Nashville Symphony

• Eric Wong – Violist of the Blair String Quartet

• MaryGrace Bender – Founder & Artistic Director of NCMS​

Who Can Join
We welcome amateur string players (violin, viola, cello, and double bass) of all ages (18+) and ability levels who share a love for chamber music and a desire for an intensive, rewarding learning experience.

• Location: Scarritt Bennett Center, Nashville, TN (15 minutes from BNA Airport)

• Housing & Meals: On-campus housing available (more info here), or choose your own accommodations in Nashville

• Tuition: $550 (housing not included)

• Age Limit: None — all adult players are welcome
