Tim Richardson, a graduate of the University of Southern California, is a violist
currently based in Nashville, TN. Former principal teachers include Che-Yen
Chen (Formosa Quartet), Larry Dutton (Emerson String Quartet), Becca Albers
(Minnesota Orchestra Principal), Michael Tree (Guarneri Quartet), Sabina
Thatcher (former St. Paul Chamber Orchestra Principal) and Paul Murphy
(Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Associate Principal). Tim's orchestral "solo
debut" occurred in the summer of 2007, when he performed the solos of Sancho
Panza in Richard Strauss's Don Quixote alongside world renowned cellist
Andrés Díaz. Since then, Tim has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in the
cities of Prague, Vienna, Budapest, and Aspen, as well as in Atlanta, Macon,
and Savannah, Georgia. An avid chamber musician, Tim has collaborated with
notable artists including Midori Goto, Anne-Marie McDermott, Robert
McDuffie, John Walz, Peter Lloyd, Larry Dutton, David Halen, Julie Albers,
Che-Yen Chen, Amy Schwartz-Moretti, and Edward Arron.
As a studio musician, Tim has recorded for motion pictures, independent films,
television series, video games, and individual artists including Lorde, Logic,
Chief Keef, Damian Marley, and Miss Lauryn Hill. Tim has also performed at
most mainstream music festivals including the Coachella Valley Music and
Arts Festival, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, the New Orleans Jazz and
Heritage Festival, Lollapalooza Chicago, and the New York City Governors
Ball Music Festival.
